Yellow Jacket Breakthrough in a Living Room

Today we got a call from a customer who came home to a living room with about 100 yellow jackets flying around in it. When we arrived at his house in Aurora, as expected we found that the yellow jackets had chewed a hole in the ceiling, something that is not uncommon towards the end of the season. With this hole in the ceiling the entire nest now had access to their house. This may sound unusual, but this time of year it actually happens quite often. As the nest expands the first sign you will see of a nest about to break through into your house is the wall will discolor with what appears to be water damage, this is in fact saliva from the yellow jackets as they have started to chew through the dry wall. If you should see this happening, do not touch it, tape a piece of cardboard over the area to give yourself an extra barrier, and call us immediately at 216-348-3379.

Today we received a call from a customer who’s wife called him stating that there were yellow jackets all over the inside of their house in Richmond Heights. Upon talking to him on the phone he was unsure where the yellow jackets were on the outside. Our technicians were able to get out there the same day, treat the nest, and even seal up the inside of the house to keep more yellow jackets from coming in. This couple was very happy that we were able to get their problem taken care of so quickly, if you have a pest control issue give us a call at 216-348-3379.

Hornets at a Golf Course Club House!

Today we received a call from a golf course in Kent that had hornets flying around inside their club house, needless to say this is not a good situation. Our technicians were able to get there within hours of them calling, to assess, and take care of the situation. Upon arrival we found that they had made one of the most common mistakes when it comes to yellow jackets, they had caulked them into their nest, leaving the only exit into the clubhouse. Many people think if they can not get out, they will just die, but what happens is they find a way out, usually into the building, and you end up with a whole nest worth of yellow jackets inside. While there we also identified 2 additional nests that could lead to potential problems, and were able to take care of those as well. If you have hornets, wasps, or yellow jackets building a nest in your wall, do not do anything, call us at 216-348-3379, and we will take care of it for you.

Captured Yellow Jackets

Today we arrived at a house where the customer told us they had a large Hornet nest growing in the front pillar of their house in Solon, we found that it was a very big, very active Yellow Jacket nest. Our technicians were able to vacuum up a large number of the yellow jackets (see below) in order to freeze, then send off to a company that makes a vaccine for people that are allergic. We were then able to leave a residual for any that were not captured during the vacuuming, this nest was very large, and could have led to issues had it been let go. If you have any bee, hornet, or wasp issues just give us a call at 216-348-3379.

Vacuuming Yellow Jackets

Today we received a call from a customer in Chagrin Falls, stating she had found a wasp, or hornet nest going in near the gutter of her house. When we arrived at her house, we found that she had a yellow jacket nest, and that they were going into a hole just under her roof line. Our technician (pictured below) was able to vacuum out a large portion of the yellow jackets to freeze, then send off to be made into a vaccine for those allergic to bee stings. Once he collected as many as he could, he was able to then kill the remainder of the nest, giving us yet another happy customer. For all your bee, wasp, and yellow jacket problems give us a call at 216-348-3379.

Bees Outside a Kitchen Window

Today we got a call from a customer who found he had a bee, or wasp nest forming outside his kitchen window. We arrived at his house in Hudson, to find that it was a yellow jacket nest that was building in his wall. Our technicians were able to identify the problem, and take care of it, all while the customer was at work. We were able to vacuum up a large portion of the nest before leaving a residual chemical for any remaining yellow jackets to pick up. When yellow jackets build a nest in a wall, it can expand to the point where they chew through the dry wall, and begin coming in your house. This is clearly something that you want to avoid, so if you notice that you have a nest forming inside one of your walls, give us a call at 216-348-3379.

Bald Face Hornets

Bald Faced Hornets are actually not a true hornet, they belong to the yellow jacket family, and are easily distinguishable due to their black bodies with white markings, which lead to their name. Their nests are easy to identify as they make the classic football shaped paper nest at someones house. Today we went to a house in Solon Ohio to take care of a yellow jackets nest, and during our inspection of the property we found a Bald Face Hornet nest forming on the back of the house. Not only were we able to identify and potential problem, we were able to take care of it before it became worse. Bald faced hornets are extremely protective of their nests, and will sting multiple times. Due to their aggression it is not advisable to try to treat them on your own, so if you have a bald faced hornets nest, or any other pest issue just give us a call at 216-348-3379.

Yellow Jackets in a Barn

Today we got a call from a guy who found a nest in a newly built barn in Auburn Ohio. We arrived to find a large yellow jacket nest in the rafters of the barn. We were able to vacuum out a large number of yellow jackets, which we then froze, and sent to a company that will make a vaccine for people who are allergic to bee stings. After we collected as many as possible we were able to remove the nest, and leave a residual chemical to prevent the nest from being rebuilt. Yellow Jackets are very aggressive, and we highly recommend calling a professional to take care of your yellow jacket problem, call us at 216-348-3379.
